How to use this peptide calculator

This peptide calculator is designed to make concentration and liquid-volume calculations easier to understand. You provide all three figures: the amount in the vial, the volume of bacteriostatic water and the target amount you want to model.

It may also be described as a BAC water calculator, peptide mixing calculator or peptide reconstitution calculator. These names refer to the same basic concentration calculation.

  1. Enter the vial strength. If the vial label states 10 mg, enter 10.
  2. Enter the water volume. Add the total number of millilitres used in your calculation.
  3. Enter the target amount. Choose micrograms (mcg) or milligrams (mg).
  4. Select the syringe capacity. Choose 30, 50 or 100 U-100 units.
  5. Select calculate. The result shows the volume in millilitres and its equivalent position on a U-100 syringe scale.

The calculator warns you when a result is larger than the selected syringe capacity or larger than the total amount entered for the vial. Always check the label, units and measuring equipment independently.

How the peptide calculator formula works

The calculator first converts the vial strength from milligrams to micrograms. It then divides that quantity by the liquid volume to find the concentration. Finally, it divides the target amount by the concentration to find the required liquid volume.

Vial amount in mcg = vial strength in mg × 1,000

Concentration in mcg/mL = vial amount in mcg ÷ water in mL

Liquid volume in mL = target amount in mcg ÷ concentration

U-100 syringe units = liquid volume in mL × 100

Worked concentration example

If 10 mg is modelled with 2 mL of liquid, the concentration is 5,000 mcg per mL. A target amount of 250 mcg is therefore 0.05 mL, which corresponds to 5 units on a U-100 scale. This example demonstrates the arithmetic only; it is not a suggested dose.

Understanding U-100 syringe units

On a U-100 scale, 100 units represents 1 mL of liquid. This means 50 units represents 0.5 mL and 10 units represents 0.1 mL. The unit-to-volume relationship stays the same across the 30-unit, 50-unit and 100-unit capacity options; the selected capacity only changes the maximum shown by the visual.

Not every device has the same scale or smallest marking. The calculator can display decimal results that may not line up exactly with the markings on a physical device. Confirm its type and scale before interpreting any result.
